WARREN DU PREEZ &

NICK THORNTON JONES

Visual Artists

Warren du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones are regarded as two of the industry’s leading artists within image making and film.

W&N began their collaboration in 1998 through their shared fascination of the image-making process and the possibilities of combining their photographic art form and digital domains. Their distinctive approach in visual communication and experimentation has resulted in striking and highly original artworks for the worlds of beauty, fashion and music. W&N have created editorial for V Magazine, NY Times Magazine, Numero, i-D, Dazed & Confused, Chinese Vogue and Nowness. Their visual innovation has been commissioned to create campaigns for Lancome, Iris Van Herpen, Shu Uemura, Hennessy, Issey Miyake, Cartier, Boucheron, Hermes, Thierry Mugler, Shiseido, Cacharel, Nike, Absolut, Levi’s, BMW, Sony and Mercedes Benz.

Within music culture, W&N have collaborated extensively with UNKLE on various album projects, with Bjork on her last three album projects and Massive Attack. W&N have directed film and videos for Iris van Herpen, UNKLE, Lancome, Cacharel, Perrier Jouet and BMW. Their unique process of combining light and form with performance lead the viewer to share their landscapes of imagination. Warren & Nick's future/past philosophy informs levels of abstraction and mystery that resonate and challenge notions of Beauty and Fashion. Their subconscious homage to classicism and surrealism conveys the pair’s vision of "dreams in reality" illustrated by their unique artistic processes which shows photography in a completely new light.

In 2015, W&N collaborated with Daria Werbowy to produce the animated film “ALEPH”. Warren & Nick are long time collaborators with Dickson Mbi working on ENOWATE, DUENDE, and other live installations.
